The people behind SpoonTime

SpoonTime began as a small gathering

SpoonTime began as a small group of pediatricians, a registered dietitian, and development specialists who came together for babies' healthy growth. With medical evidence and a warm heart, we make everyday weaning easier.

Couldn't my baby's mealtimes be a little easier and safer? The more this first-time mom researched, the more she realized the information she needed was always just out of reach. Through SpoonTime, she shares the joy of mealtimes with a baby.

Drawing on her experience delivering international relief news for a medical organization, she now works as a messenger who makes SpoonTime's content easier to understand.

Pediatrician · GI/Nutrition Professor

A hands-on pediatrician dad who made weaning food himself while raising two children. Because babies grow healthiest when they eat a variety of foods during the golden window up to 12 months — while the digestive system is still developing — he wants to help parents try foods safely and widely. He is the author of a core parenting guide for ages 0–3 and runs a blog and website with expert parenting information.

With so much parenting information out there, the caregivers who visit her clinic arrive with very different levels of it — so she joined hoping to gather it in one place parents can easily reach. She works at a pediatric clinic with a developmental center and is steadily studying developmental therapy. A dance lover, she's exploring ways to connect it with pediatric developmental care.

Raising a preemie son who came to meet his mom early, weaning felt like an enormous task. Just as she was finding her footing with a picky eater, it was already time for solids — the path to parenthood felt steep. Having been through it all, she now sees much more clearly: the "what if I'd done it this way?" regrets, the moments of wavering amid inaccurate information. She wants to convey, simply and accurately, the things she once wondered about — so first-time moms starting a journey of flavors with their baby don't lose their way at the table.

She planned mobility services in Korea, thinking about services that weave into people's daily lives. She then broadened her perspective across Vietnam and the UK — from market research to publishing content and running commerce. Having given birth and raised a child in the UK, she felt her own concerns as a mother aligned with SpoonTime's direction, and joined to work with a team that shares them.
